A fire heavily damaged a mobile home Thursday afternoon near Ridgefield.
Fire crews were dispatched at 1:23 p.m. to 21617 N.E. 29th Ave. The blaze, extinguished within 15 minutes, destroyed about one-third of a double-wide mobile home with an addition, Clark County Fire & Rescue Battalion Chief Max Konkright said.
Smoke and water damage affected the rest of the structure, Konkright said. No injuries were reported.
The Vancouver Fire Department, Clark County Fire & Rescue, Clark County Fire District 6 and Clark County District 3 all responded to the scene.
“Fast response from everyone, and initial crews got a good knockdown,” Konkright said.
Initial reports indicated that at least one person was injured in the fire, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian. But after three crews searched the residence, they determined the home was unoccupied, Konkright said.
A section of 29th Avenue near the blaze was shut down as firefighters accessed a fire hydrant across the street, Konkright said.
The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
