Fire in Ridgefield destroys travel trailer, damages cars and boat

A fire in Ridgefield on Monday morning destroyed an RV trailer and damaged a boat, motorhome and cars, according to Clark County Fire & Rescue.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 8:15 a.m. to 19515 N.E. 10th Ave., Ridgefield, for a report of a motorhome or trailer on fire, according to a CCF&R news release. A caller told 911 dispatchers that “propane tanks were exploding and that nearby cars and a boat were catching fire.”

The first fire engine arrived at the address in about seven minutes and found a 32-foot, fifth-wheel-style travel trailer engulfed in flames, according to the fire department. A nearby fiberglass boat was catching fire, and heat had already damaged two cars and a motorhome.

More resources were called in to help extinguish the blaze, including a water tender carrying 2,500 gallons of water.

No structures were destroyed or damaged, and no one was hurt, officials said.

The Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
