Police officers in Milwaukie, Ore., pretending to be 15-year-olds on an online dating site for teenagers, arrested a Vancouver man this week.
Matthew Longo, 23, of Vancouver was one of five men arrested on suspicion of luring a minor and online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree, both of which are felonies. Police say the adults were arrested on Thursday or Friday after suggesting sex or a sexual act online and arriving at an agreed upon location.
Longo is a registered sex offender with previous convictions for first-degree rape and first-degree sodomy, according to police. An online search through the Clark County Sheriff’s Office website did not find Longo listed as a registered sex offender in Washington.
Also arrested from Oregon were Ryan Oesau, 32, of Portland; Loren Sheets, 23, of Tigard; Jonathan Rubio, 43, of Wilsonville; and Jeffrey Nauck, 42, of Gladstone.
Milwaukie police were assisted by investigators from four Oregon law enforcement agencies: Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Molalla Police Department and Gladstone Police Department.
