The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday identified a man and woman who died earlier this month in a homicide-suicide at a house in the Vancouver Heights neighborhood.
Jennifer M. Robichaud, 32, of Portland died of a gunshot wound to the head from a handgun. Her death was ruled a homicide, meaning it resulted from another person’s deliberate action. The ruling does not make any judgments about criminal culpability.
Richard T. Aune, 64, of Vancouver also died of a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a suicide. The medical examiner’s office said Aune shot himself with a handgun.
Vancouver police were dispatched at 10:18 p.m. Sept. 5 to a residence in the 8400 block of Mt. Olympus Avenue on a report of two injured people inside, according to a department news release.
Upon arrival, officers found a man and woman dead inside the residence, and the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit began investigating.
No further information about the homicide-suicide has been released.
