Police are responding to a report just before 5 p.m. of a body in the Columbia River near Wintler Park, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.
A caller reported that the person, who is likely dead, was located in water that is 6 to 8 feet deep about 25 feet offshore, according to the scanner. A crew member on a fire boat estimated that it would arrive in the area around 5:30 p.m.
