Battle Ground police need help finding a stolen excavator

The Battle Ground Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding an excavator stolen June 23 from a construction site south of the Cedars on Salmon Creek golf course.

The Kubota excavator valued at $65,000 was parked at the construction site at Northeast 152nd Avenue and 181st Street, according to a police department news release.

The excavator is a 2018 model with serial No. 31563 and engine serial No. 7JM7983.

Officers investigating the theft believe the excavator was hauled away by a pickup truck pulling a flatbed trailer between 1 and 3 p.m. June 23.

Police are seeking witnesses who may have seen the truck with a flatbed with or without the Kubota Excavator on it during that timeframe in the general area.

The truck may have traveled on 152nd Avenue near the golf course and likely approached the intersection at 159th Street, police said.

Police are also interested in any security video from neighboring residents that may have captured an image of the vehicle.

Anyone who saw the truck or has information regarding the case should contact Officer Stephen Romero at 360-558-2750 or Stephen.romero@cityofbg.org or Officer Ed Michael at 360-953-9715 or edward.michael@cityofbg.org. Submit an anonymous tip at www.cityofbg.org/tips.
