Pop-Up dog parks coming to Vancouver

A series of off-leash, pop-up dog parks will be hosted by three neighborhood parks this summer.

The first will be held July 1 to 19 at Endeavour Neighborhood Park, at 2701 N.E. Four Seasons Lane. The second dog park will be hosted by Bagley Community Park, at 4607 Plomondon St., from July 22 to Aug. 10. David Douglas Park will host the third and final pop-up park Aug. 12-27 at 1016 N. Garrison Road.

Though the parks will be temporary, Vancouver Parks and Recreation will use community interest in each one to gauge the possibility of a permanent dog park in the future.

“Barks in the Parks will offer a new way for neighbors to enjoy Vancouver parks,” said Parks and Recreation Director Julie Hannon in a media release. “While people are having fun and exercising their dogs in a safe environment, they are also getting to know their neighbors and creating lasting connections. We see this as an opportunity to build a stronger community.”
