WSDOT hosts Highway 500 community survey

The Washington State Department of Transportation is asking community members to participate in an online survey about ways to improve safety on a section of state Highway 500 north of Camas, where the road passes through curved intersections with Northeast Robinson Road and Northeast Third Street.

Rapid growth in the area has led to heavier traffic and an increase in run-off-the-road crashes, according to a press release from WSDOT. The agency is gathering community input before it begins the design phase of a project that will add safety upgrades to the corridor. The project is estimated to cost $2.5 million and is scheduled for construction in the summer of 2022.

A link to the online survey can be found on the project’s webpage at wsdot.wa.gov/projects/sr500/ne-robinson-ne-3rd/home. The survey will be available online from July 27 to Aug. 7, and participants can also request a hard copy of the survey by calling 360-905-2076.
