A new multi-use development near the Interstate 5 gateway to downtown Vancouver is on track to be completed in March.
The building, called the Al Angelo Building II, is being built by Al Angelo Co. It sits in a wedge of land with a “Welcome to Vancouver” sign where East Mill Plain Boulevard splits into East 15th Street. It is the second by the Al Angelo Co. in the block.
“We’re proud to continue investment in the downtown core,” said Albert Angelo III.
Angelo said the building will have 25,000 square feet of commercial space and 44 luxury apartments on the top two floors with access to a rooftop deck.
“We’re already taking a waiting list,” he said. “We already have activity.”
The six-story building will have more than 200 on-site parking spaces too, he said.
Camas-based Robertson & Olson Construction was “able to catch up on a few days and be pragmatic about the safety of the pandemic,” Angelo said.
The leasing company for the office space, Vancouver-based Fuller Group, has “already got half of commercial pre-leased,” he said.
Angelo said he would not yet disclose the names of the companies who are renting the office space.
The spot once was home to strip malls, one facing north and the other south, that included FedEx Office Print & Ship Center and Arlo’s Barber Shop, the latter of which moved to 1801 D St.
FedEx relocated to the ground floor of the existing Al Angelo Building.
