Police investigating motorcycle crash in east Vancouver

Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcyclist in east Vancouver on Saturday.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said a car had stopped at a stop sign on Southeast 121st Avenue before continuing south across Southeast Seventh Street, when an eastbound motorcycle struck its passenger side. The motorcyclist was ejected onto the street.

There is no traffic signal for east and west traffic on Southeast Seventh Street at the intersection where the crash happened.

Police officers arrived to find the motorcycle on fire and its unidentified rider in the middle of the street being treated by medics.

It appeared the rider’s injuries were not life threatening, Kapp said.

The police department’s Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate.
