Vancouver police investigate carjacking

Vancouver police are searching for two suspects following a carjacking shortly after midnight Wednesday in the Harney Heights neighborhood.

Officers were dispatched at 12:12 a.m. Thursday to the 3300 block of East 18th Street for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Once there, a man told the officers he was almost home and sitting in his car when he was approached by two men. One of the men pointed a gun at him and demanded his vehicle, Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email.

“The victim got out of his vehicle, and the two suspects drove away,” Kapp said.

The victim was uninjured, she said.

The stolen car is a red, four-door Honda Civic with tinted windows.

Police described the suspects as a white man with ear-length, light brown hair, who is likely between 18 and 20 years old, and a Hispanic man in the same age range with buzz-cut hair.
