State lists parks set to reopen for day use beginning Tuesday

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has announced a list of state parks that will reopen for day use starting Tuesday. The Saturday announcement also included a list of parks that will remain closed past that date, including all ocean beaches and Columbia River Gorge parks.

Battle Ground Lake and Paradise Point, the two state parks in Clark County, are both among those scheduled to open on Tuesday. Visitors at the reopened parks are encouraged to stick to parks close to where they live, check the status of their favorite parks and trails before heading out and to come prepared with their own hand-washing supplies. Restroom facilities at some parks may be limited, the agency said.

The returning parks are part of Phase 1 of Washington’s four-phase reopening plan, which Gov. Jay Inslee unveiled Friday. The ocean beaches and Gorge parks are planned to return as part of Phase 2, scheduled to take effect a minimum of three weeks after the May 5 start of Phase 1.
