Two teens found safe after disappearing overnight near Mount St. Helens

LONGVIEW — Two teenage boys were found safe Tuesday morning after they disappeared Monday night south of Mount St. Helens, 911 dispatchers confirmed Tuesday.

According to 911 call records, the boys were reported missing at 9 p.m. Monday after family members hadn’t heard from them since sometime before 2 p.m.

Tanner Rooney, 18, and Zach Rebholz, 18, reportedly went to Kalama Horse Camp off of Forest Road 81 to play in the snow Monday night. They were supposed to pick up Zach’s brother in the afternoon, but they didn’t arrive, according to the 911 call logs.

Rooney is from LaCenter; Rebholtz’s home town was not immediately known.

Cowlitz County Search and Rescue Tuesday morning reported that members had been searching all night and into the morning. A 911 dispatcher said they were reported found around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
