You still have time to vote in today’s election.
Ballots should not be put in the mail, according to elections officials. Instead, take them to a ballot drop site before 8 tonight.
Clark County has nine permanent red drop boxes:
• 99th Street Transit Center, 9700 N.E. Seventh Ave.
• Battle Ground City Hall, 109 S.W. First St.
• Downtown Camas post office, 440 N.E. Fifth Ave.
• Downtown Vancouver, West 14th and Esther streets.
• Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave.
• Ridgefield, Pioneer Street exit, east of Interstate 5 at the end of North First Circle
• Shahala Middle School, 601 S.E. 192nd Ave.
• Vancouver Mall, southeast of Macy’s near C-Tran’s Vine station.
• Washougal Community Library, 1661 C St.
The county also has 10 election day-only drop locations that will accept ballots from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. today:
• Chinook Elementary School, 1900 N.W. Bliss Road
• Clark County Elections, 1408 Franklin St.
• Clark County Fire District 3, 17718 N.E. 159th St., Brush Prairie.
• Felida Elementary School, 2700 N.W. 119th St.
• Hazel Dell Elementary School, 511 N.E. Anderson Road
• Minnehaha Elementary School, 2800 N.E. 54th St.
• Salmon Creek Elementary School, 1601 N.E. 129th St.
• Sarah J. Anderson Elementary School, 2215 N.E. 104th St.
• Walnut Grove Elementary School, 6103 N.E. 72nd Ave.
• Washougal Community Center, 1681 C St.
Cathie Garber, Clark County elections director, said elections will have someone at all 19 drop locations at 8 p.m. to collect ballots brought in before tonight’s deadline.
County residents who registered to vote when they received driver’s licenses or registered online should sign their ballots the same way as on their license because that is what election workers will use to verify signatures, Garber said.
Ballots have been distributed to registered voters in the city of Battle Ground, Fire District 3, Ridgefield School District, Vancouver Public Schools, Washougal School District and Woodland School District.
An additional 4,088 ballots arrived at county elections Monday, which boosts the return rate to 26.6 percent. Election officials expect to receive another 12,000 ballots.
“We feel like we are online for our protected 35 percent turnout,” Garber said.
Turnout for previous February elections was 32.3 percent in 2019, 31.2 percent in 2018 and 35.8 percent in 2017.
The first election results are expected to be released at about 8:30 tonight.
