The application deadline has been extended for a position on a commission that oversees the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Applications for an at-large position on the five-member Civil Service Commission are due Jan. 10, according to a Clark County news release. The commission oversees certain employment and personnel matters, with the primary focus being on pre-employment testing and hiring. Commissioners, appointed by the Clark County Council, also preside over appeal hearings.
The term would begin immediately and end Nov. 21, 2021. Commissioners meet monthly, or more often as needed, for two to four hours and typically during business hours.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens who are registered to vote in Clark County and have lived in the county at least two years. Education and experience in personnel administration, a legal environment or law enforcement will be especially considered.

The commission will review applications, conduct interviews and make recommendations to the council for the appointment.
