Two businesses in Washougal are seeking the public’s help on a crowd-funding website after their shared building burned in a fire on Sunday morning at 921 Fourth St.
Racers Division is seeking $45,000 to restore its shop. The fire forced the auto shop to temporarily relocate to another business in Portland.
“We have salvaged what we could but this is a long road to recovery, from office computers being destroyed to damaged cars,” said John Cooper, brother of Racer Division owner Jared Cooper.

The other business seeking help offers a massage-like bodywork therapy called Bowenwork, owned by Wanda Walker. It has raised more than $1,200 as of noon Tuesday. It is seeking $10,000.

Two other businesses in the building were also damaged by the fire. Mike Miller, owner of Riverside Laundry, said he did not have plans for a crowdfunding effort, and Mike’s Tire & Auto did not respond to The Columbian for a comment.
