A man was arrested in Ridgefield early Friday in a joint operation by the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT and Gresham SWAT teams, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrick Churchman, 33, had been wanted on an arrest warrant alleging domestic violence burglary in the first degree, theft of a firearm, domestic violence malicious mischief in the second degree, and interfering with the reporting of a domestic violence incident.
He was also wanted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree, felony violation of a no-contact order, and violation of an extreme risk protection order.
A statement from the sheriff’s office said Churchman had barricaded himself in his parent’s residence at 601 N.E. 184th St. with a combination of firearms. SWAT teams descended on the residence in the rural residential area Friday morning.
SWAT team members used less-than-lethal munitions and a police canine to subdue Churchman, who was reportedly uncooperative and resisting arrest, according to the sheriff’s office. He was taken into custody and was scheduled to be booked into the Clark County Jail.
