Cemetery association chairman J.M. Hoff announced efforts to beautify the Union Cemetery at Sara on May 16, 1924. Hoff sent a notice to association members about an upcoming cleanup day “that will go toward beautifying this resting home for the dead.” The group hoped to add a new fence, level the grounds and add cement blocks to the lots.
