Clark County gets $50,000 law enforcement grant

Clark County has been awarded $51,588 in federal grant money to help efforts such as anti-gang and drug task forces, other crime prevention and officer safety, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.

The Department of Justice awarded $6.3 million in various grants to state and local law enforcement agencies across Washington, according to a news release. Local money came through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, established in honor of a New York City police officer who died in the line of duty in 1988.

Copies of grant awards are available from U.S. Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Emily Langlie at 206-553-4110 or Emily.Langlie@usdoj.gov.
